No-Hub Couplings

Standard Couplings

CISPI Standard 310:

Specification for couplings for use in connection with hubless cast iron pipe and fittings for sanitary and storm drain, waste, and vent piping application (regular hubless coupling)

Scope:

The purpose of this specification is to establish criteria for material dimensions and tolerances for one type of coupling used in hubless cast iron soil pipe and fittings for sanitary and storm drain, waste, and vent piping applications.

ASTM C 1277:

Specification for shielded couplings joining hubless cast iron soil pipe and fittings

Scope:

This specification covers evaluating the performance of shielded hubless couplings to join cast iron soil pipe and fittings.

Medium- and Heavy-Duty Couplings

ASTM C1540:

Standard specification for heavy-duty shielded couplings joining cast iron soil pipe and fittings

Scope:

The purpose of this specification is to establish criteria for material dimensions and tolerances of heavy-duty shielded couplings to join hubless cast iron soil pipe and fittings in sanitary and storm drain, waste, and vent piping applications.

Features

Standard Couplings

Intended for use with DWV systems, no-hub couplings are used to join cast iron soil pipe that does not have the traditional hub and spigot. They are normally installed using a torque wrench.

Medium- and Heavy-Duty Couplings

Intended for use with DWV systems, no-hub couplings are used to join cast iron soil pipe that does not have the traditional hub and spigot. They are normally installed using a torque wrench. Generally, they have more clamps and provide a greater band load than standard no-hub couplings.
